Regain your balance, reduce dizziness, and get back to living confidently.
Out of nowhere, a person can be struck by the terrifying sensation that something is very wrong — their head spins, the world tilts, and nothing feels steady. It's more than disorienting. It's life-altering.
Simple, everyday activities like getting a haircut, rolling over in bed, or even going to a yoga class can suddenly trigger a wave of dizziness, confusion, or imbalance. These moments don't just feel strange — they can lead to very real physical consequences, from nausea and vomiting to dangerous falls.
At Bodiworks, we offer Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT) — a specialized, exercise-based treatment designed to reduce dizziness, improve balance, and help individuals with vestibular disorders regain control of their lives.
The vestibular system, located in the inner ear, plays a crucial role in maintaining balance and spatial orientation. When this system is affected, it can lead to symptoms such as:
• Dizziness or vertigo
• Imbalance or unsteadiness
• Nausea or motion sensitivity
• Blurred vision (especially when moving)
• Frequent falls or fear of falling
Our vestibular rehab program is tailored to address these symptoms through a customized treatment plan based on your individual needs.
Vestibular Rehabilitation can be beneficial for individuals with:
• Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) ▾
BPPV is one of the most common causes of vertigo. It occurs when tiny calcium crystals (otoconia) inside the inner ear become dislodged and move into the balance canals, sending confusing signals to your brain.
Signs you may have BPPV include:
• Brief but intense spinning sensations triggered by specific head movements (like rolling over in bed or looking up)
• A sense of imbalance or lightheadedness
• Nausea, especially after moving your head quickly
The good news is that BPPV often responds very well to simple, hands-on techniques like the Epley maneuver. This maneuver can reposition the crystals and relieve symptoms, often within just one or two sessions.
• Vestibular neuritis or labyrinthitis ▾
Vestibular neuritis is caused by inflammation of the vestibular nerve, usually after a viral infection such as a cold or flu. Unlike BPPV, the symptoms can be more prolonged and may come on suddenly.
Common signs of vestibular neuritis:
• Sudden onset of spinning or severe dizziness lasting hours or days
• Trouble walking or maintaining balance
• Nausea and vomiting
• No hearing loss (hearing is typically unaffected)
Recovery may take some time, but vestibular rehab can significantly speed up the process by helping your brain adapt and recalibrate.
• Post-concussion symptoms
• Meniere's disease
• Age-related balance issues
• Unexplained chronic dizziness
You might benefit from a vestibular assessment if you're experiencing:
• Frequent or sudden episodes of dizziness
• Feeling off-balance or unsteady while walking
• Sensitivity to head movements or busy environments
• Nausea or blurred vision with motion
• A recent head injury, ear infection, or illness that preceded your symptoms
At Bodiworks, we provide a thorough, one-on-one assessment to help identify the root cause of your symptoms and determine the most effective path to recovery.
Your journey starts with a comprehensive assessment to evaluate your symptoms, medical history, and functional limitations. Based on the findings, our therapist will create a personalized rehabilitation plan, which may include:
• Gaze stabilization exercises to help improve visual focus
• Balance training to enhance stability during daily activities
• Habituation exercises to reduce dizziness through controlled exposure to specific movements
• Fall prevention strategies
• Home exercise programs to support your progress between sessions
Our experienced team understands how debilitating vestibular disorders can be. With a patient-focused approach, we're here to help you:
• Regain your confidence and mobility
• Safely return to work, driving, or recreational activities
• Improve your quality of life
